IFA was also the venue where Asus unveiled its newest Zen products which included its new all-in-one and stick PCs.

On one end, we have the Zen AIO S series that includes a 23.8 and 21.5-inch versions. The entire series boasts a premium all-aluminum design and can be spec’d up with gaming PC-grade components such as a 6^th generation Intel Core i7 processor, NVidia’s GeForce GTX 960M graphics with 4GB of video memory and up to 32GB of RAM.

In terms of connectivity, the ZEN AIO S series support USB 3.1 Type-C connector and sports four USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The machine also comes with 10-point multi-touch IPS display that delivers 4K/UHD resolution and 100% sRGB color gamut.

Asus has also installed 6 speakers in the device that delivers crisp and clear full-range sound. There’s also an Intel RealSense camera that allows users to login by just looking at the device.

The Zen AIO S Series will also come bundled with a number of Asus apps including Asus HomeCloud, PC Link, Share Link and SyncUp apps. Furthermore, 100GB of Asus WebStorage will be available to users for one year.

Now for those who are looking for a different all-in-one solution at a much, much smaller package, Asus also launched the Asus VivoStick.

The HDMI stick features an Intel Cherry Trail processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. It also comes with two USB 3.0 ports, a headphone jack and Bluetooth 4.0 that will allow users to connect a keyboard and mouse.

The device will be sold for $129 though shipping dates are yet to be announced. The VivoStick will be available in a variety of colors including blue, gold, white and black.

The company also formalized the announcement of some of the company’s new products along with specific details about its pricing and availability. This includes the new Zen Watch 2 which will be sold starting at $170 for the 45mm model and $190 for the 49mm version.

Both versions will come with AMOLED displays (1.45 inches on the 45mm model and 1.6 inches on the 49mm model), 512MB of RAM, a Snapdragon 400 processor and 4GB of internal storage. The watch will also have a 300mAh battery (400mAh for the 49mm version) and will be available in three color options: gunmetal, silver and rose gold.

Asus’ mobile department isn’t the only one announcing new products at COMPUTEX this year. The company’s PC wing is also debuting a number of devices at the event including a new AIO computer, a mobile projector and two transformers.

First up, the 23.8-inch Zen AIO is packing a 3D camera technology that provides gesture control and 3D face recognition for people who are too tired to use a keyboard or mouse to control the PC or type a password. The computer is built using aluminum with the Zen line’s iconic rippled brush pattern.

The internals is composed of a Core i7 processor, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M with 4GB of dedicated video memory and up to 4 PCIe Gen 3 SSDs. Asus also claims that the device is the first AIO to bear USB 3.1 Generation 2 connectivity that can transfer data up to 10Gbit per second.

Asus has also made a very portable projector that can be used for its line of smartphones and tablets. The Asus E1Z can fit in one’s packet and comes with its own rechargeable battery that’s rated at 6000mAh. The specs of the device hasn’t been fully disclosed yet but Asus says the device can go up to $200 when it becomes available.

The company also showed a demo gaming PC unit called the H-tower that transforms at a flip of a switch. The device is the product of the collaboration between the company’s Republic of Gamers (ROG) wing and In Win case manufacturer. 

The computer features a set of pistons and hinges that separates and provides easy access to the machines internals allowing for easy swapping of internal components. There’s no concrete information yet if Asus will mass produce the device and its specs are still not been fully disclosed yet.

Lastly, there’s the company’s latest 2-in-1 device, the Transformer Book T100HA. Specs-wise, this device packs an Intel Atom X5 chip with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC storage.

The device’s 10.1-inch has a resolution of 1200 x 800 and Asus claims the battery can last up to 14 hours on a single charge. It’s also quite interesting that Asus is jumping into the USB Type C bandwagon with this model just like the new MacBook.

 Pricing and shipping dates for the devices mentioned above are not finalized yet, so we just have to wait a little longer for an official word from Asus.

PCs on a stick aren’t exactly a new idea in the tech space. There have been manufacturers who have made almost identical products and yet there’s still room for new players in the game. Asus is the latest company to join this small group of players with the Chromebit.

The stick, which is powered by Google’s Chrome OS packs a Rockchip RK3288 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. The chip connects to a TV or an external monitor via an HDMI connection while Bluetooth is used for connecting peripherals like a keyboard and mouse.

Just like other Chrome-OS-powered devices, educational institutions and businesses are likely to be the destination of the Chromebit, though Asus promised that it will also be available as a retail release.

Asus is planning to launch the Chromebit by Q3 2015 at a suggested retail price of around $100.

Asus is challenging HP’s sub-$200 Stream laptops by offering a Windows 8.1 device of its own in the same price bracket – the Asus Eeebook X205 for $199.

The X205 sports an 11.6-inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution and is powered by an Intel Bay Trail-T Z3735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.33GHz. There’s also 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal storage and Intel HD Graphics.

I/O ports include two USB 2.0 ports and a micro HDMI port. Other notable features of the notebook include Bluetooth v4.0, a VGA webcam, SonicMaster integrated speakers and a 38Whrs polymer battery.

IFA, Europe’s biggest tech show is now in full swing and the gadgets are pouring like crazy. Asus for instance has announced a plethora or devices at the event including a two new laptops, a smartwatch and a tablet.
First up is the Zenbook UX305, an all-aluminum Ultrabook with a 13.3-inch display featuring a resolution of 3200 x 1800 (~276ppi) baked in a 12.3mm thick body. Just like its predecessors, the UX305 prides itself with clean and elegant design including the Zenbook’s signature metallic-ripple finish.

The laptop will be offered in two color options – Obsidian Stone and Ceramic Alloy as well as two SSD storage configurations (128GB/256GB). Unfortunately, this model loses the touchscreen display. In terms of other specs, all we know is that it will have an Intel Core M processor and will get around 10 hours of juice from its battery.
If you’re on seriously tight budget, there’s also the Asus EeeBook X205 which has a suggested retail price of just $199. The laptop will be powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail processor and will be equipped with 2GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage complimented by OneDrive and Asus WebStorage.

The X205 has an 11.6-inch display that has a 1366x768 resolution. There’s also a VGA camera, a microSD card slot, a micro-HDMI port and a 38Wh battery, which according to Asus will last up to 12 hours of usage.
Asus is also updating its 7-inch MeMO Pad tablet. It features a new Intel Atom chip with a 64-bit 1.83GHz quad-core processor. The slate’s display has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels that equates to a screen density of 323ppi.
The new MeMOPad also comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded through a microSD card, up to 16GB of cloud storage and a 5MP+2MP camera combo. The tablet will be offered in three different color options – red, gold and black and will retail starting at $260.

Finally, there’s the new Asus Zenwatch. The wearable is directly competing with Samsung’s Gear Live, LG G Watch and Motorola’s Moto 360 in the Android Wear battle field.
The watch has a 1.63-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and is protected by a layer of curved Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, there’s a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 chip, half a gig of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 1.4Wh battery.

There’s also Bluetooth v4.0, a microphone and a bio sensor to monitor a user’s heart rate. The watch is compatible with any 22mm band so you can match it to your outfit of the day. The Zenwatch also has IP55 certification giving it protection against the elements.
The Asus Zenwatch is expected to ship before the end of the year for somewhere around $260.

Asus’ Republic of Gamers brand of simply known as ROG has always been a major part of Computex. Last year, the brand released several products including the Maximus VI Formula motherboard, the Poseidon Graphics card and a couple of Tytan laptops.

This year, the company announced even more products, which includes a 4K gaming laptop, two Steam machines, several motherboards and a number of gaming PC accessories.

Leading the charge of announcements is the GX500. The laptop is based on the Asus NX500 laptop and packs a 15.6-inch 4K IPS display that can show 100 percent of the NTSC colour gamut. It also comes with Asus’s VisualMaster technology, an Intel Core i7 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce 860M graphics chip.

The laptop has a very thin profile at just 0.75 inches thin and weighs just 4.9 pounds, making it one of the slimmest gaming laptops in the market rivalling that of Razer’s Blade, Maingear’s Pulse 17 and MSI’s GS70.

Thanks to its Nvidia graphics card, the GX500 boasts cool and nifty features that would make any gamer happy including automatic game optimization, ShadowPlay and the ability to automatically record segments of a game so users can later share them on their social networks. It also has Nvidia’s Battery Boost technology that maximizes the laptops 6-cell battery.

The ASUS ROG GX500 is set to ship sometime in Q3 2014 for a little less than $2000.

Also on ROG’s menu at Computex are the ROG G20 gaming desktop and the ROG GR8 console gaming PC. The ROG G20 sports an Intel Core i7 processor with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 graphics that is housed in a 12.5-liter case, making it an ideal solution for those with big gaming needs but have small spaces.

The G20’s ventilation system takes advantage of natural convection in order to cool the entire machine. The computer’s case uses a thermal design with a hidden airflow tunnel that accounts for the G20’s efficient heat management and low operating noise. ROG and Asus has also made the gaming desktop extremely power efficient which only consumes 20W in Eco Energy mode.

Design-wise the computer’s case sports a sophisticated design, Mayan stencilling and customizable lighting effects that shows up to 8 million colours across three different zones. Moreover the G20 also comes equipped with Asus’s Aegis application that helps users monitor system performance through a very gamer-friendly interface.

Then there’s the ROG GR8 console gaming PC which will support SteamOS. The machine will be powered by an Intel Core i7 processor coupled with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 750Ti GPU. It will also have SupremeFX audio output, support for UHD graphics and Gigabit Ethernet networking.

ROG has also baked in a built-in Miracast receiver and WiDi 3.5 that allows the GR8 to mirror and stream content from supported Android smartphones and tablets as well as Windows 8.1 devices.
