Samsung’s next generation flagship tablets are now official.
The new Galaxy S2 slates will be offered in two sizes – an 8-inch version and a
9.7-inch model.
Both models as you might expect have similar specs with the
exception of the screen size. Both will have an octa-core processor (one 1.9GHz
quad-core CPU partnered with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor), 3GB of RAM and
either 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage.
The two models will also have an 8MP camera at the back, a
2.1MP snapper on the front, support for multitasking and a touch-enabled
fingerprint scanner. Samsung will offer the tablet in either a Wi-Fi only or 4G
LTE version.
As for their displays, both the 8-inch and 9.7-inch model
will have a native resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and will be of the Super
AMOLED type. The smaller tablet will have a 4000mAh battery while the bigger
9.7-inch model will have a 5870mAh pack.
Samsung hasn’t given any information about the tablets’
price but their expected to be available in various markets starting next
month.
