Video-on-demand services such as Netflix and HBO Go are now
gaining popularity among consumers thanks to its convenience and wide selection
of titles. While these popular platforms aren’t available in the Philippines
(yet), there are local companies who are trying to bring an alternatives in to
the market.
HOOQ is one just brand that is offering video-on-demand
services for Filipinos. The company is currently partnering with local telco
company Globe, offering an extensive collection of movies and TV series to
Globe subscribers.
Now, the company is expanding its targeted demographics by
offering the service beyond Globe’s consumer base as a 30-day trial service,
which is accessible using its accompanying app on iOS and Android or through
any web browser.
This means that HOOQ will be the first VOD service provider
in the country that offers the widest and longest period of trial access to the
largest library of movies and TV shows. Moreover, the company will expanding
its payment terms allowing more Filipinos to access the service for those who
want to subscribe after the 30-day trial period.
HOOQ’s video library is comprised of both local and
international videos through its partnership with Warner Bros. Television, Sony
Pictures Entertainment, ABS-CBN, Regal Entertainment, Viva Communications, GMA
Network, Disney, Dreamworks Classic Media and Miramax.
