Three interesting new products were showcased this week at Samsung’s booth at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The first two devices are part of the company’s Series 9 laptops which both sports the latest generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, Intel HD520 graphics card and chassis made from magnesium alloy.

The smaller 13-inch model comes with a USB Type-C port with two additional USB 3.0 ports while the larger 15-inch model ads in a micro HDMI port, a mini Ethernet and mini VGA port.

The third device to be featured by Samsung during the event was the Galaxy Tab Pro S – a convertible with an ultra-portable design that runs Windows 10. Unlike the Android-packing Galaxy Tab S, this model sports the same magnesium alloy construction as the two earlier Series 9 models.

The device boasts Intel’s 6^th generation Core M chips with a 2.2GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It also has a 12-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a USB Type-C port, a 5200mAh battery and a 5MP+5MP camera combo.

Samsung has also thrown in a detachable keyboard which should up the tablet’s productivity capabilities. The keyboard attaches to the device through powerful magnets and comes with NFC which allow it to pair with other Samsung devices.

Apple’s iPad Pro is getting some competition, at least in the display department with the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy View, the Korean tech giant’s enormous 18.4-inch tablet that was first showcased at IFA.

But unlike Apple’s big tablet that’s designed to be a productivity powerhouse, the Galaxy View is meant to be a big tablet for consuming multimedia content. The device comes with a handle that allows users to easily carry it from one room to another. It also features a 2-way kick-stand so you can better enjoy watching videos on the device’s large display.

The tablet is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and features 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of expandable storage via a microSD card. There’s also a 2.1MP, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi ac and optional LTE connectivity.

Samsung has installed Android 5.1 Lollipop on the tablet with its own Media UX skin on top. There’s no word yet on pricing and availability but the device has been prematurely listed on a US online store with a price tag of $599.

Barely a week after releasing its new Galaxy S2 tablets, Samsung has now unveiled another tablet – the Galaxy Tab A Plus, which is intended as an upgrade to the Korean manufacturer’s mid-range slate unveiled back in March.

The new tablet sports a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels. Inside the device is a Ziilabs ZMS-08 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. There’s a 5MP camera at the back of the device which is capable of capturing HD videos while there’s a 2MP sensor at the front for selfies and video calls.

Samsung has also equipped the tablet with a 6000mAh battery, Wi-Fi b/g/n and an S Pen stylus. The Galaxy Tab A Plus will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI on top and will be sold for $372 in either sandy white or sandy black color.

There’s no word yet on when Samsung plans to ship the tablet but the device is already listed on the company’s Belgium-France website.

Samsung’s next generation flagship tablets are now official. The new Galaxy S2 slates will be offered in two sizes – an 8-inch version and a 9.7-inch model.

Both models as you might expect have similar specs with the exception of the screen size. Both will have an octa-core processor (one 1.9GHz quad-core CPU partnered with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor), 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage.

The two models will also have an 8MP camera at the back, a 2.1MP snapper on the front, support for multitasking and a touch-enabled fingerprint scanner. Samsung will offer the tablet in either a Wi-Fi only or 4G LTE version.

As for their displays, both the 8-inch and 9.7-inch model will have a native resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and will be of the Super AMOLED type. The smaller tablet will have a 4000mAh battery while the bigger 9.7-inch model will have a 5870mAh pack.

Samsung hasn’t given any information about the tablets’ price but their expected to be available in various markets starting next month.

Samsung has quietly announced the first model of its Galaxy Tab line for 2015 in a discrete event in Russia – the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. The slate will be offered in 2 variants, an 8-inch version and a 9.7-inch model.

Both models will have a 1024 x 768 display, which translates to a screen density of 160ppi for the 8-incher and 133ppi for the 9.7-inch model. The slates come with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM (2GB of the larger model), 16GB of expandable storage and a 5MP/2MP camera combo.

In terms of longevity, the 8-inch model is sporting a 4200mAh battery, which according to Samsung is enough for the device to last for up to 10 hours on normal usage. The 9-inch variant, on the other hand goes by with a bigger 6000mAh pack.

There’s no specific news yet about an official shipping date, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab A will be priced at around $275 for the base 3G model and up to $372 for the LTE version (that will probably come with 32GB of on-board storage).

Samsung has always been known for having the biggest range of offering to consumers from budget handsets, those with massive displays and of course those that cater to demanding consumers. This year, it looks like the Korean giant will still implement the same philosophy by releasing a number of handsets for different types of consumers.

For starters we have the Galaxy F AKA the Galaxy S5 Prime (which we’ve heard of since the launch of the Galaxy S5). A few days ago, images of the Galaxy F surfaced online revealing a mostly-metal design handset. Looking at the photos, the handset appears to have almost identical looks with the original S5 with the exception of course of what looks like a metal back cover.

An earlier leak has hinted that the S5 Prime will have QHD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 16MP rear camera. The Samsung Galaxy F is expected to launch sometime in September most likely to steal the iPhone 6’s thunder.

Then there’s the upcoming Galaxy Tab S that’s scheduled to be unveiled on Thursday. The tablet which was previously codenamed Warhol will reportedly have a 13-inch display with WQXGA (2560 x 1600) resolution.

It will also have an Exynos 5 (5420) chipset with four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores in a big.LITTLE configuration, a hexa-core ARM Mali-T628 GPU, 3GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera that is capable of recording 1080p videos and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy Tab S will have Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, GPS with GLONASS and an IR blaster. The slate will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box with Samsung’s latest Magazine UX on top.

Lastly, there’s the Galaxy S5 Mini, which just like the two devices mentioned above were exposed in a photo leak this week.  In contrast to the Galaxy S Tab that looks like a stretched version of the S5, the S5 Mini is the opposite which is a shrunken down version of the flagship model.

The S5 Mini bears the same design as the original S5 with the same button placement and dimpled back cover. Under the hood, the device boasts an Exynos 3 Quad chipset with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, Mali-400 graphics, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Connectivity features include LTE and 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, an IR blaster and GPS with GLONASS. The S5 Mini will also have an 8MP camera at the back, a heart rate sensor and a 2.1MP camera at the front. Just like the flagship phone, it looks like the Mini will also have IP67 certification.

The Mini will of course have a smaller display at 4.5 inches which will be of the Super AMOLED type and will be protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The handset will likely run on Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest version of TouchWiz UX and other proprietary features like Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode,  Private Mode and Samsung Knox to name a few.

There’s no word yet on when Samsung plans to announce the S5 Mini, but if destiny wills it, the device might make an appearance at the company’s Tab into Color event this week.

Yesterday, LG officially unveiled three new tablets to its G Pad range, and now it looks like the other Korean tech heavyweight is prepping for the offensive. According to a source by GSMArena, Samsung is currently working on three new tablets with screen sizes from 8.4 inches to a whopping 13.3 inches.

The three tablets will pack a WQHD display but since they have different screen sizes, pixel density will most certainly vary. The smallest of the bunch at 8.4 inches will have the densest display with a pixel density of 359ppi. On the other hand, the larger 10.5-inch and 13.3-inch models will have pixel densities of 288ppi and 227ppi respectively. Moreover, all three models will be offered in either 3G (3G + LTE) or Wi-Fi only models.

The 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch tablets codenamed Klimt and Chagall respectively will have an Exynos 5 chipset with two quad-core processors, a hexa-core Mali GPU and 32-bit dual-channel 933MHz LPDDR3e RAM. Both models will also have an 8MP+2MP camera combo as well as a fingerprint reader.

As for the 13.3-inch slab, we only know that it will have the same resolution as the other two tablets. However, the Warhol’s display will be of the LCD type in contrast to the Super AMOLED panels on the Chagall and Klimt.

By the looks of it, the tablets might be the successor to the recently released Galaxy Tab or Galaxy Tab Pro lines. If so, then we should expect these models to be announced at the very latest Q4 of this year, but then again, Samsung may hold some surprises for us so we just might have to stay put for more announcements.
