If you happen to own Sony’s latest PlayStation gaming
console, then now’s the time to go shopping for new games to play. One of the video
game industry’s biggest event – the Electronic Entertainment Expo kicked off
this week and there are tons of goodies for PlayStation owners from fighting
games to role playing games.
Here are a few of the top titles that were revealed during
the event.
Street Fighter V
This side-scrolling classic is expected to be available by early 2016. The game is produced by Capcom and uses Unreal Engine 4 rendering engine. Capcom will release the title both for the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
Lego Jurassic World
Lego Jurassic World was developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive. The game will be available across different platforms including PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.The plot of the title is based on all four Jurassic Park films.
The Last Guardian
The game was developed by Team Ico and will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2016 for the PlayStation 4. The game was first introduced at E3 2009 for the PS3 but suffered numerous delays.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn is an upcoming role-playing video game created by Guerilla Games and will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2016 for the PS4. The plot of the game revolves around Aloy, a hunter archer human who lives in a post apocalyptic world ruled by mechanized creatures.
Transformers: Devastation
Developed by Platinum Games and will be published by Activision, Transformers:Devastation is a hack and slash game that is based on the Transformers franchise. The title features fast paced combos as well as the ability to transform characters between robot and vehicle mode just like in the animated series. The game is expected to ship by Q3 2015.
Destiny: The Taken King
The Taken King is the third expansion to Activision's Destiny first person shooter game. The game will focus on a specific character named Oryx in his quest to avenge the death of his son. Several new classes will be added into the gameplay and will be released in 2016.
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront as the name implies is a game based on the ubiquitous Star Wars franchise. It is a first-person and third-person shooting game published by Disney Interactive Studios. The game is actually a reboot of the series and will take place in several planets in the Star Wars universe including Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and Sullust.
Mad Max – Eye of the Storm
Eye of the Storm is another game based on a popular movie franchise - Mad Max.
Dark Souls III
Dark Souls III is another role playing game headed to the PS4. The game is from From Software and will be released in early 2016.
Wayward Sky
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Deus Ex is the newest addition in the cyber-punk-themed role playing franchise by Square Enix. The title was designed to replace the outgoing 2011 Deus Ex: Human Revolution and features first-person shooting game play with third-person perspective cover system.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Finally, there's the Final Fantasy VII remake. To the surprise of many, the project has remained a secret and was only unveiled during the event.
