While OnePlus’ 2 is marketed by the company as the Flagshipkiller, it can be argued that its latest release, the OnePlus X is the
mid-range killer. The phone is priced at $250, but offers consumers more bang
for their buck compared to its competition.
The smartphone sports a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED panel and
comes equipped with a Snapdragon 801 chipset featuring a 2.3GHz quad-core
processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
In the camera department, the X features a 13MP primary
camera with an ISOCELL sensor from Samsung with an f/2.2 lens. The front camera
has an 8MP sensor with an f/2.4 lens.
The phone is bound by an anodized metal frame while the body
can be had in either Onyx or Ceramic. The latter is said to have 8.5H hardness
on the Mohs scale thanks to its sophisticated manufacturing process that takes
25 days to finish.
Other notable features of the phone include 4G connectivity,
Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS and BDS and Android 5.1.1 with
OxygenOS on top.
As with its bigger brother, the OnePlus X will be offered
through an invite system. On top of that, only 10,000 units will be made making
it even harder to come by.
