Gionee has recently unveiled a new Elife model that will
complement its existing lineup of thin phones, but with a bigger display.
The new Gionee Elife S Plus will trump the S5.1 Pro that was
launched back in September with a 5.5-inch 720p AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass
3. The phone still have the MediaTek MT6753 chipset with a 1.3GHz octa-core
processor, Mali-T720 GPU and 13MP rear camera from the S5.1 Pro.
The RAM has been upgraded from 2GB to 3GB but the
front-facing camera has been downgraded from 8MP to 5MP. The phone will have
16GB of expandable storage, LTE connectivity, dual-SIM functionality, a 3150mAh
battery and a USB Type-C connection.
Gionee has installed Android Lollipop on the device with the
company’s Amigo launcher on top. The Elife S Plus will be launching initially
in India this month for $260.
