HTC has introduced a new smartphone in China that should go on sale soon. Priced at a little less than $400, the new HTC One X9 is more like an upgrade from the One A9 that was released a few months ago.

The phone is built around a 5.5-inch Full HD display and sports MediaTek’s Helio X10 chip with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There’s also a 13MP camera at the back that’s capable of capturing 4K video and comes with optical image stabilization.

HTC has installed an UltraPixel camera on the front and a 3000mAh battery on the One X9 as well. However, unlike the A9, this phone doesn’t have a fingerprint reader and there’s no word yet on what version of Android the phone will have when it hits the shelves.

Those who are interested in getting the One X9 should be available soon for a price tag of around $370.

One of the most awaited announcements this year is that of HTC’s new flagship model – the One M9. And now, the Taiwanese manufacturer’s top model has arrived in all of its metallic glory.

The new One M9 comes with a 5-inch Full HD display of the Super LCD3 family. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 810 chip with a 64-bit octa-core processor, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

Connectivity-wise, the M9 is packing an LTE Cat radio (some regions will get a Cat9) with support for 21 LTE bands, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC and Wi-Fi AC.

HTC is ditching the Ultrapixel main camera from last year’s model in favor of a 20MP sensor from Toshiba with a 1/2.3-inch sensor, an f/2.2 aperture and dual-LED dual-tone flash. The camera supports RAW capture as well as 4K video recording.

However, the Ultrapixel sensor isn’t completely gone yet. HTC has used this sensor into the 4MP front-facing camera sans the auto-focus. HTC has also announced new camera effects for the rear camera as well as a brand new Zoe app.

Software-wise, the new One M9 will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC’s Sense 7 UI on top. Coming with Sense 7 are other HTC-exclusive apps including HTC Blinkfeed and BoomSound connect.

The HTC One M9 will officially launch this March with pricing information to be revealed days before shipment starts.

HTC and Microsoft go a long way back. In fact, HTC’s first smartphones were powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile OS, and there was also a time when HTC had the most Windows Phone devices in the market. But ever since Nokia adopted the Windows Phone platform, HTC took a back seat and suspended the development of any Windows Phone device after the HTC 8X from 2012.

This week, the Taiwanese manufacturer has finally unveiled the Windows Phone version of its flagship smartphone – the One (M8). The device is coming to the US via Verizon.

The phone is identical to its Android counterpart when it comes to specs and hardware including a 5-inch Full HD display, HTC BoomSound speakers, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It also has the same Duo camera setup that uses a 4MP UltraPixel camera at the back and a 5MP front-facing snapper.

The Windows Phone version of the One M8 will also come with Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana as well as HTC’s news and social network aggregator app – BlinkFeed. As always, there’s no word if HTC will offer the phone outside the US, but hopefully they will.

It’s time again for another round of rumours to indulge our tech cravings! This week, we’ve already seen alleged live shots of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime so its archrival – HTC’s Prime model shouldn’t be far behind.

Today, @evleaks posted on his Twitter account an image of the rumoured HTC One Prime. The phone looks like a bigger version of the One M8 flagship smartphone, so it appears the Prime it looks a lot like last year’s One Max phablet.

The most noticeable upgrade of the Prime to the original One M8 would have to be in the cosmetics and imaging department. For starters, the black body of the device is said to be crafted with the use of aluminium and a liquid silicone hybrid for added strength and heat-absorbing capabilities.

The camera of the device is also bigger than the M8 and its body is also flatter. As for specs, the One Prime is expected to have a Snapdragon 805 chip with a quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch Full HD screen.

Aside from the One Prime, the plastic version of the One M8 dubbed as the Ace made the rounds today on a number of Chinese tech blogs.

The images show the phone’s curvy scarlet body as well as some interesting hardware differences to the original M8. Besides the metallic body, the One M8 Ace will also lose the dual-camera setup and will instead back either an 8MP or 13MP camera.

Luckily, HTC didn’t cut back on the Ace’s internals. The phone will have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 5-inch Full HD display.

There’s no word yet on when the two handsets will be available. What’s sure though is that the Ace will first hit Chinese stores with an estimated retail price of $480.
