In its thrust to promote digital lifestyle to Filipinos,
Power Mac Center, the premium Apple reseller in the country is launching
Cinemansanas – a campaign for aspiring and even established artists to create
short digital film entries with the theme “Designing for a Bold New World.
Contest participants are allowed to create films in
different forms and genres including narrative fiction, documentary and the
like. Moreover, the competition has two main categories – a student category
(meant for high school and college students) and a professional category for
local residents. Student entries will also be automatically eligible to win the
Adobo Design Awards Asia (ADAA) while professionals will need to pay a nominal
fee of Php500 to be eligible.
All entries will be shot and edited using Apple devices. The
Student Category Diamond Award winner will receive Php30,000 worth of PMC Gift
cards, while the winner in the Professional category gets to take home
Php50,000 worth of PMC Gift cards.
Runner-ups in both categories will also get PMC gift cards
and products. Special prizes will also be awarded to ADAA winners and the
People’s Choice Award.
As with previous iterations of Pixelworx campaigns,
Cinemansanas will feature a series of workshops led by brand ambassadors, as
well as live demo sessions in select PMC stores. For 2016, Power Mac Center has
selected various industry leaders including director Erik Matti, Yam Laranas,
Ricky Lee as well as Mario Cornejo and Monster Jimenez.
The deadline for submission of entries is on March 20, 2016.
