Chinese manufacturer Gionee’s big-battery Marathon lineup
has just welcomed two new models this week – the Marathon M5 Plus and the
Marathon M5 Enjoy. Both phones have massive battery packs but differ in a
number of things.
The Marathon M5 Plus is the more powerful of the two,
sporting a 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with an
octa-core processor, 3GB of storage and 64GB of expandable on-board storage.
There’s a 13MP camera at the back with LED flash and phase
detection autofocus, a 5MP snapper, a fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth v4.0, LTE
connectivity, support for fast-charging and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the
box.
The Marathon M5 Enjoy on the other hand offers a slightly
cheaper alternative to the M5 Plus. It has a 5.5-inch 720p TFT display, a
fingerprint scanner, a MediaTek MT6735 chipset, a quad-core processor, 3GB of
RAM and 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.
Although both phones have large battery capacities compared
to other phones in the market, theirs is a bit watered down compared to the
original M5. The Plus version only has a 5020mAh battery while the M5 Enjoy has
a 5000mAh cell.
Both phone is now available
in China with the M5 Plus retailing for around $385 while the M5 Enjoy will
sell for around $310.
