Biometric authentication tech is now slowly becoming a norm
in the mobile tech scene with major manufacturers integrating it to their
flagship products. While American and Korean companies have successfully installed
the technology in their latest offerings, the Japanese are already a step ahead
of them by introducing the first smartphone with Iris authentication tech.
The Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G is now officially the first
smartphone that comes equipped with iris authentication tech, which scans the
pattern of the iris in the human eye to securely authenticate a user.
Internally, the Arrows NX will feature a Snapdragon 810 chip
with an octa-core processor, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of
expandable storage. There’s also a 5.2-inch WQHD display, a 3120mAh battery, 4G
connectivity and Wi-Fi MIMO.
The camera at the back is a 21.5MP snapper from Sony with a 1/2.4
CMOS image sensor. The Arrows NX F-04G is now available in Japan through NTT
DOCOMO for around $750.
