Dell’s Inspiron and XPS lines got an update at COMPUTEX this
week with the announcement of several models including the bigger brother of
the highly successful XPS 13 alongside a number of Inspiron models.
The XPS 15, just like its little brother, features the
infinite display with either a Full HD or an optional 4k UHD resolution made by
Sharp and offers 400 nits of brightness. It also offers 72% color gamut and a
1000:1 Contrast ratio.
The laptop can be equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor,
an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 GPU with up to 2GB of graphics memory and up to 1TB of
storage. It also comes with a 3-in-1 media card reader, NFC, two USB 3.0 ports
and MaxxAudio Pro audio technology.
Also on display at Dell’s booth are its new Inspiron models.
Headlining the bunch is the Inspiron 15 7000. Just like the XPS 15, it can be
equipped with an optional 4K display. The standard model though has Full HD
resolution with 270-nits of brightness.
Dell will allow you to install up to a Core i7 processor,
8GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive. Connectivity-wise, the laptop will come with the
usual assortment of ports including a USB 3.0 port, HDMI v1.4, a multi-media
card reader and a microphone-headphone combo jack.
The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 will be available towards the end
of June with a suggested retail price starting at $550.
For those looking for a more affordable machines, Dell also
showcased the Inspiron 11 3000 and Inspiron 13 7000. Both models will come with
Intel’s Braswell chip, at least 4GB of RAM and 500GB of storage for the base
model and will have starting price tag of $350 and $550 respectively.
Finally, for those who got a bit envious of Asus’ Zen AIOs,
Dell is also offering its own AIO models – the Inspiron 20 and 24 from its 3000
series.
The Inspiron 20 will have a 19.5-inch display with HD
resolution while the Inspiron 24 will have a 23.8-inch 1080p display. Both can
come with an optional touchscreen, and can be equipped with either an AMD or
Intel Braswell chips. RAM and internal storage starts at 2GB and 500GB
respectively.
Pricing for the Inspiron 20 starts at $330 and will be
available by October while the bigger 24-inch model will be available starting
this month with a base price of $480.
