Gionee might have lost the title for the slimmest smartphone
in the world to Oppo’s R5, so it might now be trying to get a different title
by having a smartphone with the largest battery capacity.
It’s latest release, the Marathon M3 is packing some serious
juice with a 5000mAh battery, which according to Gionee can last up to 33 days
on stand-by. The phone also supports USB OTG so you might be able to charge other devices using its massive battery. The device also features a 5-inch IPS LCD panel with 720p
resolution.
Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6582 chip with a 1.3GHz
quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage (up to 129GB via a
microSD card). There’s an 8MP camera at the back that is capable of HD video
recording and a 2MP selfie camera at the front.
Just like most Chinese smartphones, the Marathon M3 has two
SIM card slots. Other notable features include an FM radio, Wi-Fi 802.11n and
GPS. The phone is now available in India for around $210 in either black or
white.
