So you might have heard that Motorola has a new smartphone in
the US called the Droid Turbo. And though it was a Verizon-exclusive at first,
the American smartphone maker has decided to bring it outside the carrier’s clutches.
Enter the international version of the Droid Turbo – the Moto
Maxx, which was launched a couple of days ago in Brazil.
The phone will have much of the Droid Turbo’s DNA including
a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (~565ppi) and protected
by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm
Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, an Adreno
420 GPU and 64GB of internal storage.
At the back of the device is a 21MP camera with autofocus
and LED flash while a 2MP camera is seated at the front. Connectivity-wise, the
Maxx has Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC and LTE connectivity. The battery
capacity is also the same at 3900mAh unit.
The phone will be offered in either ballistic nylon finish
or metalized glass fiber reinforced with DuPont Kevlar for around €700.
