A rather unknown (until now) German manufacturer is
apparently prepping a new smartphone that promises premium design and specs at
a price tag that won’t hurt your wallets.
The company issued a press release today about its upcoming
smartphone offering – the i8. According to the information on the press
release, the phone will be built around a 5-inch Super AMOLED panel with a
resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will also have 3GB of RAM, 80GB of
on-board storage, a 13MP HD camera at the back from Sony, an 8MP camera at the front,
a 3100mAh battery and a 2.1GHz octa-core processor.
Other notable features of the phone include GPS, Bluetooth
v4.0, electronic compass, gyroscope, HDMI 4.1 with 3D support, NFC, Wi-Fi and
LTE connectivity. The phone will reportedly run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with
the company’s custom Linshof UI on top that is said to be custom tailored for
the hardware of the i8.
The phone will reportedly launch by Q1 2015 for $380. There’s
no certainty whether the information on the press release is correct as the
company doesn’t really have much of an online presence. But if the phone does
come out next year, we’ll certainly be there to give you the news.
