Another Huawei Honor device has made its official debut this
week packing the company’s home-brewed SoC – the Kirin 928 chip.
The phone is built around a 5-inch Full HD display. The
Kirin 928 chip is comprised by a 2GHz octa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, a Mali-T628MP4
GPU and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The smartphone also comes with a
13MP+5MP camera combo and a 3100mAh battery.
Huawei is installing Android 4.4 KitKat on the Honor 6
Extreme and will equip the phone with an LTE-A Cat.6 radio. The Chinese company is also creating several accessories for
the phone including an exclusively designed headphone, a 0.2mm tempered glass
screen protector, 2 NFC tags and a limited edition protective shell.
The Honor 6 Extreme will be manufactured in limited numbers
only – 9,999 to be exact. Each handset will retail for $489 and will be
available for pre-order starting October 21.
Meanwhile, consumers from India are receiving another Honor
smartphone – the Holly. The phone gets a 5-inch 720p display, a MediaTek
chipset with a 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an
8MP+2MP camera combo, a 2000mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the
box.
The phone is currently available exclusively at online
retailer Flipkart for $118 and will likely be an India-exclusive as well.
