Just like the Xperia Z1 from last year, it looks like Sony
is also making a mini version of its current flagship phone – the Xperia Z2a. Last week, the specs of the Z2a were leaked showing off its
almost-flagship components. The phone is built around a 5.0-inch display with
full HD resolution encased in a plastic body.
The brain behind the Z2a is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801
chipset, a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB
of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. In
terms of connectivity, the phone has Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi ac, NFC, LTE Cat4
and microUSB with OTG.
The Z2a boasts a 20.7MP camera (1/2.3-inch sensor size) with
LED flash and image stabilization and a complimenting VGA camera at the front. The
good thing is that the Z2a still has Sony’s Triluminos display and X-reality
engine as well as IP58 certification.
The handset will be available in Taiwan next month with
pricing information to be announced in the coming weeks.
