Mere months after Nokia unveiled the Nokia
X in Mobile World Congress in Italy, the Finnish company is already set in
rolling out its successor – the Nokia X2.
We’ve first caught glimpse of the X2 last month when its
specs were revealed through an Antutu
benchmark score. Today, Nokia has ended the rumours and shows off its
newest and most powerful Android handset yet.
The X2 packs a larger 4.3-inch ClearBlack display and a more
powerful Snapdragon 200 chipset with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an Adreno
302GPU and 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. The
display, although larger sports the same WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels)
which equates to a lower screen density of 217ppi.
Connectivity-wise, the X2 comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0,
3G connectivity and dual-SIM functionality. There’s also a 5MP camera at the
back with LED flash plus a VGA front-facing camera for video calls and taking
selfies.
Buttons on the handset remain pretty much the same with the
exception of the addition of a capacitive home button just below the display.
Nokia has also bumped the battery to 1800mAh over its predecessor’s 1500mah
power pack. Unfortunately, the phone is running on only Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
and there’s no word yet if the X2 will be upgraded to Android KitKat.
Nokia will be offering the X2 starting July for €99 in
several colour options including green, orange, black, yellow and white.
