RUMOUR MEALS: HTC’s One Ace and One Prime

It’s time again for another round of rumours to indulge our tech cravings! This week, we’ve already seen alleged live shots of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime so its archrival – HTC’s Prime model shouldn’t be far behind.

Today, @evleaks posted on his Twitter account an image of the rumoured HTC One Prime. The phone looks like a bigger version of the One M8 flagship smartphone, so it appears the Prime it looks a lot like last year’s One Max phablet.

The most noticeable upgrade of the Prime to the original One M8 would have to be in the cosmetics and imaging department. For starters, the black body of the device is said to be crafted with the use of aluminium and a liquid silicone hybrid for added strength and heat-absorbing capabilities.

The camera of the device is also bigger than the M8 and its body is also flatter. As for specs, the One Prime is expected to have a Snapdragon 805 chip with a quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch Full HD screen.

Aside from the One Prime, the plastic version of the One M8 dubbed as the Ace made the rounds today on a number of Chinese tech blogs.

The images show the phone’s curvy scarlet body as well as some interesting hardware differences to the original M8. Besides the metallic body, the One M8 Ace will also lose the dual-camera setup and will instead back either an 8MP or 13MP camera.

Luckily, HTC didn’t cut back on the Ace’s internals. The phone will have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 5-inch Full HD display.

There’s no word yet on when the two handsets will be available. What’s sure though is that the Ace will first hit Chinese stores with an estimated retail price of $480.
