HTC’s new Mini handset is now out of the bag, and so far it
looks like the rumours
were true about this upcoming handset from the Taiwanese manufacturer.
The handset is built around a 4.5-inch 720p display
(~326ppi) and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2GHz
quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an Adreno 305 GPU and 16GB of built-in storage
that can be expanded using a microSD card up to 128GB.
In terms of external design, the One Mini closely resembles
its bigger brother the One M8 featuring matte and textured metal in its
construction and the use of front-facing BoomSound speakers.
Unlike the One M8, HTC isn’t using its UltraPixel camera
technology with the One Mini 2. And instead ops for a 13MP camera with a BSI
sensor and an f/2.2 lens at the back and a 5MP camera at the front that is
capable of capturing 1080p videos.
The One Mini 2 is also fully equipped in terms of
connectivity, boasting LTE connectivity, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth v.40 (atpX
enabled), dual-band Wi-Fi, a microUSB port and NFC. According to HTC, the One
Mini 2’s 2100mAh battery should last up to 16 hours with 3G talk time.
HTC has yet to announce the pricing for the One Mini 2, but
it will be available starting in June in certain markets in three colour
options – gunmetal grey, glacial silver and amber gold.
