Microsoft’s popular productivity app for the PC – Microsoft
Office is now happily surfing the waves of download in Apple’s App Store; but
Google is already hot on its heels as the search giant released this week
standalone apps for creating and editing documents and spreadsheets – Google Docs
and Sheets.
Aside from creating and editing documents, the two apps also
facilitates easy search of documents and spreadsheets stored on a device.
Furthermore, the apps has made it easy for users to search and retrieve recently
edited files making the process of browsing a long list of files in your device’s
hard drive shorter and more convenient.
Google has also added offline support to the two apps, which
means that users will still be able to work on their documents and spreadsheets
even when they are not connected to the internet.
As for presentations, Google said that the standalone Slides
app will be available soon, although they didn’t give a timeframe will we need
to wait for the app to be available. Nonetheless, both the Docs and Sheets app
are now available for free on Google Play and the iTunes App store.
