LTE connectivity is quite a big thing nowadays, and this
feature which was once meant exclusively for high-end devices are now slowly
trickling its way to more affordable products. In fact, this week we see two
new handset mid-range handsets were recently announced that bear this feature –
LG’s L65 and ZTE’s Star 1.
On one hand, we have the LG L65, which sports a 4.3-inch LCD
display with WVGA resolution. The handset also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon
200 chipset with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal
storage. At the back of the smartphone is a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash
while a VGA camera sits at front.
Connectivity-wise, the L65 offers users with Wi-Fi (with
Wi-Fi Direct), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, two SIM card slots and of course LTE
connectivity. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and comes
with a 2100mAh battery.
On the other hand, we have China’s ZTE Star 1. The phone
features a 5.0-inch OGS display with Full HD resolution. It is powered by a
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 305GPU,
2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD
card.
The Star 1 comes with an 8MP rear camera with dual-LED
flash, a 5MP front facing camera, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB OTG, GPS and a
2300mAh battery. Just like the LG L65, the ZTE Star 1 will run on Android 4.4
KitKat out of the box.
The LG L65 is now currently available in Russia for around
$210 while the ZTE Star 1 is heading to China later this month for around $225.
