Nokia has given its line of budget-friendly Asha feature
phones an update today that transforms the product line into a better
photo-taking machine. The Asha update will affect single and dual-SIM versions of
a number of models including the Asha 500, 501, 502, 503 and 230.
The biggest update comes in the camera department. For
starters, there’s now a panorama mode that uses a circle at the center of the
viewfinder to align the images as a user pans the camera. There’s also a
voice-assisted selfie mode which gives users voice instructions so that their
face is at the center of the image when they take the shot.
Nokia has also upped its game in terms of social connectivity. The Asha line’s Fast Track section is now able to notify you of your friends’ birthdays and how much your tweet has been retweeted. The company’s free radio streaming app – Mix Radio will be coming with the update.
The international rollout of the update started yesterday,
so Asha owners can already check their phone for the update.
