The folks from The
Verge have recently uncovered a leaked version of Windows 10 that will apparently
use peer-to-peer network to provide updates to PCs for Windows 10 once it
become commercially available.
The use of P2P networking should allow Microsoft to easily
rollout Windows 10 updates to consumers whether online or offline (using a home’s
network). Furthermore, this will be beneficial for users with multiple devices
as it will no longer be necessary that all devices connect to Microsoft’s
servers to download the update.
Unfortunately, this is the first time that Microsoft or any
manufacturer for that matter has considered using such a system to serve
updates. So we’re not completely sure if Microsoft would push through with this
idea.
