Samsung has just announced three new tablets in the past few
days to strengthen its army of unibody-designed Galaxy smartphones.
The first two smartphones were launched in India and are
part of the Galaxy E-series with their polycarbonate unibody design. The Galaxy
E5 is sporting a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 410 chip with a
1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
There’s also an 8MP camera at the back, a 5MP snapper on the
front, support for two SIM cards and a 2400mAh battery.
The E7 on the other hand, sports a slightly bigger 5.5-inch
Super AMOLED display of the same resolution as the E5. The handset shares
almost identical specs as the E5 with the exception of its memory at 2GB, the
rear camera which is now upgraded to 13MP and its battery which is rated at
2950mAh.
The Galaxy E5 and E7 will sold for $304 and $362 respectively.
It will be marketed alongside the Galaxy
A3 and A5 in India, which will retail for $324 and $401 respectively.
Lastly, Samsung is welcoming the bigger brother of the A3
and A5 – the Galaxy A7. The phone is expected to arrive at the end of this
quarter and will be offered in two chipset configurations – a 64-bit Snapdragon
615 variant or a 32-bit Exynos 5430 flavor.
Both variants will have an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM
and 16GB of expandable storage. Other notable specs of the handset include a
5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a 13MP+5MP camera combo, Cat 4 LTE, Android
4.4 KitKat out of the box (upgradeable to Android 5.0) and a 2600mAh battery
pack.
Samsung hasn’t provided specific pricing information for the
A7 and simply mentioned a competitive price point for the device.
