Asus is starting to step into Xiaomi territory by announcing
a new smartphone whose price drops beyond the $150 point that most mainstream
smartphone manufacturer dare not go to.
The Taiwanese tech giant’s Pegasus X002 looks very similar
to the company’s Zenfone line of affordable smartphones. It has a 5-inch HD
display, an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing snapper for
selfies. Under the hood, there’s a 64-bit MediaTek MT6732
chip with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable
storage.
As far as longevity and connectivity goes, the Pegasus X002
packs a 2500mAh battery, dual-SIM functionality and LTE connectivity. The phone
will run on Android 4.4 KitKat and is currently available for pre-order in
China for just $128.
