Gionee is steadily growing its Marathon line of phones with
big batteries. Just last month, the company announced the Marathon M5 Plus andM5 Enjoy which both have batteries over 5000mAh in capacity.
This week, the Chinese manufacturer introduced the Marathon
M5’s smaller brother – the Marathon M5 Mini. The phone is built around a 5-inch
720p IPS display and runs on a MediaTek MT6580 chipset.
The handset sports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
There’s also an 8MP camera, a 5MP selfie snapper and of course the mandatory
large battery which in this case is rated at 4000mAh.
The Gionee Marathon M5 mini is running on Android 5.1
Lollipop with the company’s Amigo UI 3.1 on top. It also has the usual plethora
of connectivity features that are found in devices in this price range
including 3G connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
There’s no word yet on pricing and availability, but given
its specs sheet, its likely to be another budget-friendly phone with a retail
price that will fall below $200.
