They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, so Apple
must be very, very proud as the number of manufacturers
copying the iPhone is growing each day. The latest phones to join the clique of
iPhone wannabes are Vivo’s X6 and X6 Plus, which was released a few days ago.
The Vivo X6 as you might have expected would be the
counterpart of the iPhone 6. It has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full
HD resolution (around 442 ppi).
Computing power is supplied by a MediaTek MT6752 chipset with
a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a
dual-core Mali-T760 graphics processor.
The device’s metal body is made from anodized
aluminum-magnesium alloy that’s milled using 57 steps which include nano
injection molding and laser engraving. The phone also has two antennas that
ensures better reception for the LTE modem.
Other notable features of the X6 include Bluetooth 4.0,
Wi-Fi ac, a 2400mAh battery, a fingerprint reader at the back and a 13MP+8MP
camera combo.
On the other hand, the Vivo X6 Plus gets a bigger 5.7-inch
display, also of the Super AMOLED variety. It has the same chipset as the base
X6 but gets double the storage at 64GB that’s expandable using a microSD card.
Just like the X6, this bigger model has a dual-SIM functionality
and a fingerprint reader. There’s also a 13MP camera at the back with phase
detection autofocus and an f/2.2 aperture. An 8MP selfie snapper is also
present, a Yamaha Hi-Fi chip and a 3000mAh battery.
Both phones will launch by next week, with the X6 to sell
for $390 while the X6 Plus to go for $500.
