2015 is definitely the year of the metal phones as a number
of manufacturers has shifted from using plastic in the construction of their
devices to metal. Although it’s a little bit late, LG has finally caught up
with the rest of the industry by releasing its first metal phone dubbed as
Zero.
The Zero is built around a 5-inch HD display and features LG’s
signature Arc Glass design. It also sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset
with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
There’s also a 2050mAh battery, a 13MP camera at the back
and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. LG has a number of software
enhancements in the camera app that are also found in other phones in its
G-series. These features include Gesture Shot, Gesture View and Gesture Interval
shot.
In the connectivity department, the LG Zero packs the usual
set of connectivity features including Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1 and LTE
connectivity.
The LG Zero is expected to be available in the coming weeks
with prices starting at $340.
