Gionee’s slim S-line is slowly but steadily growing throughout
the past couple of years. This week, the Chinese manufacturer is adding a new S
model in the lineup by the name of the Gionee S6.
The phone is built around a
5.5-inch HD display and runs on a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with a 1.3GHz
octa-core processor that’s complemented by a Mali T-720 GPU, 3GB of RAM and
32GB of expandable storage.
A 13MP camera sits at the back of
the device, while a 5MP snapper is positioned on the front. There’s support for
LTE connectivity, dual-SIM functionality and a USB Type-C connection.
Gionee has installed a 3150mAh
battery on the S6, which should provide enough power to the phone with moderate
use. The S6 will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company’s Amigo OS 3.1
on top.
The Gionee S6 will be offered initially
in China for around $266 and will be available within the week.
