French phone maker Alcatel in association with online
retailer Lazada has recently launched its latest smartphone offering in the
Philippines – the OneTouch Flash 2. Designed as the successor to the Flash
Plus, this smartphone boasts very good optics that’s meant for selfie lovers
and shutterbugs.
The 5-inch display of the Flash 2 has a resolution of 1280 x
720 pixels and comes with a 5-point multi-touch touchscreen. The IPS panel also
boasts a wide viewing angles and MiraVision Image technology. On the inside,
the OT Flash 2 sports a 64-bit Mediatek chipset with a 1.3GHz octa-core
processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage and a Mali-T720 MP3 graphics

The star feature of the handset would have to be its
cameras. In fact, Alcatel has even named the cameras on the Flash 2 to
emphasize its importance. The camera at the front is called the “Profie Cam”
and has a 5MP sensor and an f/2.2 aperture wide-angle lens. The front camera
also features a number of photo-enhancing software including Beauty mode,
Multi-angle mode, Front panorama mode and time-lapse mode to name a few.
Looking at the back, Alcatel has put a 13MP snapper with an
ISOCELL sensor from Samsung. The company is calling it the gSight camera, which
features Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), 4x digital zoom, an f/2.0 aperture
lens and real tone flash. Just like the front-facing camera, the gSight camera
also comes with numerous photo-enhancing software like time-lapse mode, super
fine pixel mode and track mode.
As for the rest of the specs, the OT Flash 2 has a 3000mAh
battery, LTE connectivity, dual-SIM functionality, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
and the usual plethora of sensors.
The phone will be available by the end of the month for
around $132 (6190 PHP).
