After Microsoft axed the Nokia brand off its corporate
umbrella, the Finnish phone maker is now making a comeback by announcing a new
phone that has features not too far with what the company used to make. The
Nokia 222 comes in single and dual-SIM versions and is branded as
internet-enabled phones.
The handset is packing a 2.4-inch QVGA display and comes
with 2G/EDGE connectivity. There’s a microSD card slot that can utilize up to a
32GB card, which can be used to store MP3 files for its music player.
There’s also an FM radio, a 2MP camera at the back that can
capture 320 x 240 pixel videos at 15 frames per second. The phone also comes
with an LED bulb at the back but it can only be used as a flashlight.
In terms of software, the Nokia 222 has a few quirks
including mobile Facebook, Twitter and GroupMe messaging. As for games, the
handset comes preinstalled with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Midnight Pool
3. The Nokia 222 will be available starting next month for just $37 before
taxes and subsidiaries.
