Oppo has just unveiled a new entry-level smartphone
following its announcement of the mid-range Neo 5 duo. We’re not sure why the
Chinese phone-maker decided to skip a number, but the Oppo Joy 3 is the latest
model in the company’s Joy lineup.
The Joy 3 is built around a 4.5-inch IPS display with a
resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz MediaTek chipset
with a Mali-400MP2 graphics card, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
At the back is a 5MP camera which is capable of capturing
videos in HD. It also sports several performance improving modes such as HDR,
Panorama and Beautify to name a few. There’s also a 2MP camera on the front
with a wide angle lens for selfies.
The phone supports two Micro-SIM cards with one SIM offering
3G connectivity. As for the rest of the connectivity features, the Joy 3 has
Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and USB OTG. Power is supplied by a
2000mAh Li-Po battery.
The Oppo Joy 3 is expected to ship within a couple of weeks for around $153.
