LG has quietly announced a new smartphone in South Korea
called the Band Play. The device is a mid-range handset and as such comes with
mid-level specs.
For starters, its innards is composed of a Snapdragon 410
chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable
storage. The phone’s 5-inch display comes with 720p resolution while the
battery is rated at 2300mAh.
The Band Play also comes with a 13MP camera at the back and
a 5MP snapper on the front. The phone also sports a set of 1W speakers and
features premium QuadBeat 3 headset.
The LG Band Play will go on sale this week initially in
South Korea for around $356. There’s no word yet on when and if LG will bring
the phone to other markets.
