Almost all of Android’s major partners have already
announced their flagship models for 2015, except for LG. Today, the Korean tech
giant has finally unveiled the latest iteration of its flagship smartphone, the
LG G4.
Compared to its main rivals like the new Galaxy
S6 and S6 Edge, HTC
One M9 and the Sony
Xperia Z4 that tries to outperform one another by sheer computing power, LG’s
G4 is focusing on providing exceptional design, clear display and a powerful
camera.
The G4 utilizes a 5.5-inch display of QHD resolution. It
uses a quantum LCD panel, which delivers improved colour accuracy, better
colour reproduction, improved brightness and higher contrast. LG fans will also
be treated with a little bit of luxury as the G4 has the option to have a
leather back that is processed in the same manner as other luxury goods made
from leather.
In the camera department, the G4 boasts a 16MP camera with
an f/1.8 lens, which should help it perform better even in low-light
conditions. The rear camera also comes with three-axis optical image
stabilization, which can compensate for movements up to two-degrees in range.
There’s also an 8MP camera on the front that is capable of capturing 2160p
video.
The software on the camera also packs some mean features
including high ISO settings, live histogram, manual shutter speed, support for
RAW image capture and a panorama mode that can create images up to 104MP in
size.
In terms of its performance, the G4 uses a Snapdragon 808
chip, which features a 64-bit Cortex-A53 quad-core processor and a Cortex-A57
dual core processor. It also comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage,
Android 5.0 Lollipop with LG’s custom skin and a 3000mAh battery.
The LG G4 will be available starting tomorrow in its
hometown, South Korea though pricing details are not released yet.
