Uber is probably one of the most successful companies in
recent years having been introduced to different markets all over the world.
And although there have been major legal hurdles in some of the markets it’s
servicing, there are parts of the world where the company has enjoyed positive
reception.
And for some of those markets, Uber will be offering an
added bonus starting this weekend. The ridesharing company has collaborated
with popular music streaming service Spotify to deliver a unique experience to
its customers.
The partnership allows Uber users to “soundtrack” their
ride. To get this service, users first need to connect their Spotify Premium account
to their Uber Profile. Once a user requests for a ride, the app will indicate
if the car chosen is music enabled. After which, the user can select a song or
playlist that will be played once the ride arrives.
The service bundle will be available to Uber users in select
cities that Uber has chosen including London, Los Angeles, Mexico City,
Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Toronto.
The company has promised to bring the service in other cities all over the
world in the coming weeks.
On top of that, Uber and Spotify will also be doing artist
ride-alongs as well as exclusive live sessions in the said cities.
