HTC has just announced a new mid-range smartphone at its
homeland – Taiwan. The HTC Desire 620 is built around a 5-inch 720p display and
is powered by either a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip or a MediaTek MTK
MT6592 SoC.
Both models have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage that
can be expanded via a microSD card. The Snapdragon model can accommodate up to
128GB cards while the MediaTek model can go with up to 32GB cards only.
There’s also a 2100mAh battery, an 8MP rear camera with
1080p video capture capability, a 5MP front-facing camera and LTE connectivity
(for the Qualcomm model). The phone, which will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense on top will be available starting next month
starting at $161 for the MediaTek version and $225 for the Qualcomm model.
