Samsung’s most popular Duos model – the Galaxy Grand is
getting an upgrade this week with the announcement of the Galaxy Grand Prime in
India a few days ago.
The new Grand model will pack a 64-bit Snapdragon 410
chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable
storage. There’s also going to be two SIM card slots on the phone as well as an
8MP+5MP camera combo.
Other notable features of the handset include Bluetooth
v4.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct and 3G connectivity.
The display is a 5-inch LCD panel with qHD resolution while
battery is rated at 2600mAh. The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat and will
be offered in either black or white for $280. Samsung is initially shipping the
Grand Prime to India in the coming weeks.
