Luxury smartphone maker Vertu and car maker Bentley have
announced that they are currently working on a new line co-branded phones
called “Vertu for Bentley”.
The first model will reportedly be announced in October
followed by four more models over the next five years. There’s little
information about what kind of smartphones the two posh brands will churn out
but it’s very likely that these phone will be running on Android with specs
similar to the recently announced Vertu
Signature Touch.
The phones will be designed by both Vertu’s and Bentley’s
design teams and will be offered as special edition phones, that provide
Bentley specific content to its users. It’s also very likely that the phone
will be offered as a complementary gift for customers who will purchase a new
Bentley car.
This isn’t the first time that Vertu has worked with a
carmaker for a special edition handset. The company has previously worked with
Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari in its Ascent feature phone.
