Microsoft’s virtual voice assistant Cortana can be called
the crowning glory of Windows Phone that makes it a viable choice for handset
owners that are looking for something new and yet practical.
According to the folks from GeekWire who were able to speak
with Windows Phone’s Group Program Manager Marcus Ash at the SMX Advance Search
Marketing Expo in Seattle, Microsoft has been considering to port Cortana to
both iOS, Android, desktop PCs and even vehicles.
Marcus Ash also added that the concept of bringing Cortana
to other platforms has been actively been talked about at Redmond. However, he
was quick to correct that the development of Cortana will still be focused on
improving the Windows Phone (and eventually Windows) environment and that it
will still be the top priority at Microsoft regardless of any possibility of an
expansion to other platforms.
