Unlike other more well-known brands in the tablet industry
who are selling their products above the $150 price point, HP is selling its
newest tablet – the HP 7 Plus at a price point that will rival that from less
popular brands from China.
The tablet has a 7-inch WSVGA IPS display (approximately
170ppi), an 1GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor, 1GB of DDR3 SDRAM, 8GB of
on-board storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot, a 0.3MP fixed
focus front camera and a 2MP fixed focus rear camera.
The 7 Plus also comes with an accelerometer, a micro USB 2.0
port, an integrated microphone, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and mono
speaker. HP is also adding 25GB worth of lifetime cloud storage courtesy of
Box. The tablet will be powered by a 2800mAh battery, which according to HP should last for more than 5 hours and will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The HP 7 Plus is now available on the US HP store for $99.99.
