Miniature versions of flagship smartphones have gained
popularity this past couple of years especially since big brands such as
Samsung, HTC and Sony have churned out such handsets to accommodate those who
aren’t too fond of massive screens and hefty price tags.
So with the recently launched Xperia Z2 flagship model, a Z2
Compact is almost certain to come along. And according to a recent FCC filing,
it might be coming very soon as a Sony SO-04F was spotted yesterday giving hopes
to rumors about the Z2 Compact.
Details about the smartphone are scarce, except that it will
have a 127.6x65.5mm body with a 4.5-inch 720p display.
Although this phone model may very well be other Xperia
model, the dimensions of the handset are close enough to the Xperia Z1 compact
for speculations to arise. Moreover, the company is known for always upstaging
its flagship devices on a regular basis, so the quick release of the Z2 Compact
may not be as farfetched as we think.
