Lenovo’s latest offering in China – the Golden Warrior S8
smartphone may sound something for China’s elite, but actually the phone is
meant for the country’s working class with a price tag of just $130.
For that amount of money, you’ll get a 1.4GHz MediaTek
octa-core processor, a 5.3-inch HD display, 16GB of expandable memory, 2GB of
RAM, a 13MP camera at the back, a 5MP camera at the from, a 2000mAh battery,
support for two SIM cards and even a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel on top of
its display.
Obviously, the gold colour on its body is just a paint job
and the phone’s body is still made from affordable plastic. Also, Lenovo has
only equipped the S8 with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
At the moment, it looks like China isn’t going to bring the
Golden Warrior S8 outside of China. But we do hope that Lenovo would change its
mind and bring it to other markets.
