The field of digital arts has rarely been recognized by
people in the Philippines even though this segment of the industry of marketing
produces thousands of media that we see everywhere from billboards, buses and
other forms of print media.
The lack of recognition has also hampered innovation among
the country’s digital artists which can sometimes affect the quality of their
work. Fortunately, a digital media firm in the Philippines put up the National
Digital Arts Awards just last year in order to create value for more people and
engage young digital artists in the country.
This year, Globaltronics is once again hosting the National
Digital Awards, which was launched simultaneously with the company’s 10th
year anniversary dubbed DIGIC10. The NDAA will bear the theme: Redefine,
Recreate, Revolutionize, which aims to generate world-class talents that are
sourced locally and have an international mindset.
The company
has recruited 9 judges from across the advertising agency to put to the test
this year’s entries. Judges include Mr. Dan Matutina co-founder of Plus 63 Design, Mr. Jobert Monteras, one of the nation’s best After Effects Artist, Mr. Heinritzh Sales, Art Director of Team Manila, Mr. Ali Silao, Creative Director of TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno, Mr. Jay Tablante, Independent Brand Ambassador and Master Photographer, Mr. Dave Yu, CEO of Mothership, Mr. JP Cuison, CEO and Founder of Gigzilla and Associate Creative Director of Publicis Jimenez Basic, Mr. Patrick Cabral, multi-disciplinary designer, and Mr. CJ de Silva-Ong, Senior Art Director, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno.
