Aside from its multi-camera setup, it looks like the Amazon
smartphone still has a few tricks under its sleeve.
According to another report by BGR, the Amazon smartphone
will have gesture-based controls – specifically those involving the tilting of
the device. By tilting the handset in different directions, users can access
menus and information about a specific app without having to touch or tap
anything on the screen.
Sources of BGR states several examples in which this tilt
control feature can be used. These include viewing IMDB ratings when browsing
movies on the company’s video store or show Yelp reviews on top of certain
locations on the maps app.
Moreover, the phone will allegedly replace the traditional
navigation and menu buttons found on most Android phones with its motion-based
controls. The report also states that the phone may use optical character
recognition (OCR) technology that should allow the device to capture images of
signs and automatically recognize the text and convert it into a note.
