Aside from the Aspire Switch 10, Acer also introduced today
two new Android-running Iconia tablets – the Iconia One 7 and the Iconia Tab 7.
Both models carry the same 7-inch screen with WXGA
resolution of the IPS variety. The Iconia One 7 (with model number B1-730)
comes with an Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz 8GB/16GB
of built-in storage and a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU.
The tablet also comes with the usual connectivity options
such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microUSB port. Acer has also added front and
rear cameras as well as its own Cloud storage service called AcerCloud for easy
storage and sharing of files such as videos, photos, music and documents across
multiple devices.
There’s also the Acer Iconia Tab 7 that offers basic
telephony functionality. The tablet manages with its quad-core MediaTek CPU, a 2MP
or 5MP rear camera (depending on market), a microSD card slot, 8GB/16GB of
on-board storage and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Iconia Tab 7 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with a
battery life that should last up to 6 hours while the Iconia One 7 will
initially have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (although Acer promised that it will be
upgradeable to Android 4.4 once it becomes officially available) with a battery
life will last for 7 hours.
Both tablets will be available starting next month with the
Iconia One 7 retailing for around $130 while the Iconia Tab 7 will start at
$152.
