China seems to be a hotspot for mobile phone announcements
this week. Yesterday, HTC announced the One M9+ in Beijing. And today, the
country became the host for the announcement of Oppo’s newest mid-range handset
– the A31.
The device is built around a 4.5-inch display with a
resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Under the hood, there’s a Snapdragon 410 chip
with a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage that can be
expanded with a microSD card.
There’s also an 8MP camera at the back with an f/2.2
aperture and LED flash. The front of the handset is where you’ll find the 5MP
selfie snapper. Other notable features of the A31 include support for LTE
connectivity, two SIM card slots and a 2000mAh battery.
Oh and did we forget? The Oppo A31 is constructed using two
layers of glass that is bound by a metallic frame. The company will make the
handset available initially in China for around $160 with other markets to
follow shortly.
