As to be expected from any Nexus and GPE phone, the LG G Pad
8.3 Google Play Edition is now receiving an update for Android 5.1 Lollipop via
OTA. The 200MB-ish update brings a couple of improvements specifically those relating
to security.
Unfortunately, users whose devices have already received the
update are still complaining about the memory leak issue. On the bright side
Google is reportedly working on version 5.1.1 so a fix might be due soon.
Other members of the Google family getting the update
include the Moto G via OTA, the Nexus 10 tablet and of course the latest Nexus
devices from HTC and Motorola.
