The Philippines is the next emerging market to get Google’s affordable
line of smartphones. Helping Google bring Android One to Filipinos are two
local phone makers – Cherry Mobile and MyPhone with the Cherry One and MyPhone
Uno.
The two handsets will go on sale in the coming weeks and of
course will be priced competitively. Both phones will feature a 4.5-inch
display (with 854x480 pixels), a 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek processor, 1GB RAM,
8GB of expandable storage, a 1700mAh battery and a 5MP+2MP camera combo.
As part of the Android One family, both the Cherry One and
the MyPhone Uno will be getting the latest iteration of the most current
version of Android – version 5.1 of Lollipop. Connectivity-wise, the duo will
have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity. Pricing is expected to be around
$90.
