Samsung has just announced a new Galaxy smartphone model called
the Galaxy J1 that packs entry-level specs.
For starters, the J1 is packing a
4.3-inch WVGA display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, half a gig of RAM and 4GB
of expandable internal storage. There’s also a 5MP camera at the back with an
LED flash as well as a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies.
Power is supplied by a 1850mAh
battery, which Samsung claims will be able to last up to 10 hours on a single
charge. Connectivity features on the other hand include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0
and GPS with GLONASS.
The Galaxy J1 will be running on
Android 4.4 KitKat with a number of software additions including a
gesture-based selfie function that takes your photo when you make a simple
gesture with your hand.
The handset is already listed on
Samsung Malaysia’s website, though shipping and pricing information aren’t
available yet.
